Comparable homes in Scottsdale typically start at $550,000 to $700,000, with much of the city well above that. Scottsdale apartments run $200 to $400 per month more than similar units in Phoenix on average.
  • Dining and entertainment: Scottsdale’s restaurant and nightlife scene is more concentrated and more expensive than Phoenix. Old Town Scottsdale is one of the pricier dining corridors in Arizona.

Scottsdale has limited freeway access. The 101 runs along the western edge of the city, but getting from North Scottsdale to west Phoenix, the airport, or I-10 destinations takes more time than from central Phoenix neighborhoods.

Phoenix’s freeway network offers shorter commutes to a wider range of employment centers including downtown, Tempe, Mesa, and the West Valley.
